Working with Church bodies, the local congregation and the Municipality of Jasper, Another Way is assessing the creation of a multipurpose community-benefiting project that would include a multifaith worship space, housing units (including affordable and not-for-profit seniors housing) and community services. 

Created The Piazza: A Community Investment Coop

Participated with the Community Investment Cooperative that purchased a problematic strip mall. Founding member.

Saved an Historic Building

Renovated an historic building into an Indigenous arts collective and law office. Founding owner.  The renovation used a casual/refugee labour model.

Consulted with Project 10

Assisted in the acquisition and redevelopment of 10 inner city derelict properties. Consulting team member.

Assisted in developing an award-winning, national equity-based affordable housing investment fund with Islamic Family and SVX.  Fund will be investment ready summer of 2026. 

  • Successfully negotiated the sale of McDougall United Church on terms that allowed for ongoing access to the worship space on a rental basis.
  • For the Confederacy of Treaty Six, provided consulting services for the development of its first two affordable housing projects located on surplus schools in Edmonton.
  • For Excel Housing Society, devised a “right sizing” approach to assessing a small, scattered site housing inventory. The assessment of 34 group homes serving people with disabilities was used to guide a Residential Home Revitalization Plan that will dramatically change the future configuration of Excel’s housing stock.
  • For Nikihk Housing Society, created a transition plan for the repatriation of housing currently under receivership with CMHC. Assisting Treaty 6 and Treaty 8, the 3 year strategic and operational plan includes a detailed analysis of building conditions reports, budgets, management practices and opportunities for redevelopment of underutilized parcels.  
  • Spearheaded Project 10, the acquisition and redevelopment 10 derelict inner properties for the Edmonton CDC. 
  • With Bissell Centre, explored the transformation of the historically significant Beverly United Church into a CED hub.
  • Renovated an historic, inner city commercial building using casual and refugee labour into a vibrant Indigenous arts collective building for 2072638 Alberta Ltd.
  • Provided early-stage consulting on creative financing options for a housing project co-sponsored by Islamic Family and Community Services and Right at Home Society.
  • Delivered a workshop on Due Diligence and the Housing Development Process for CMHC.
  • Developed multiphase, multi-building pro formas and project development concepts, as well as budget reviews, for Homeward Trust.
  • Wrote a community-led housing needs and assessment process for the City of Lacombe.
  • Wrote the business plan for an Off Reserve First Nations project proposal for family, affordable housing
  • Developed and delivered an Employer Assisted Housing pilot project for Alberta Employment and Immigration. 
  • Explored the creation and adoption of good neighbour agreements for social housing projects with E4C.
